It’s official! I’m having a new love affair with New York. I flew in on Sunday morning and didn’t stop until I stumbled onto the 8P.M. flight Tuesday night. This city has it all — Scenery : there we were in the bar of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, drinking champagne and gazing out across Central park and the skyline. Theatre: if you haven’t seen Mama Mia! — you must! -great music - incrediable energy — we were on our feet clapping and singing for at least the last half hour of the performance. Adventure: did you know there is no traffic in Manhatten on a Sunday night? — we took a pedi-cab from the theatre to the Four Seasons Hotel through nearly empty streets on the perfect Summer night.

The best adventure of all was spending time with my fabulous, darling editor, Michele. In three days of none stop fun, our lunch came out on top — I’m more excited than ever to be working with her at Warner Books.

Back home I’m busy with my working life and my social life. Next time, stories about how my two world’s connect — a little gossip, like my newest heroine, Rebecca Covington, Chicago’s most notorious columnist, might divulge.
