"The use of traveling is to regulate imagination
by reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are."
Samuel Johnson, 1709- 1784
"For my part, I travel not to go anywhere,
but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move."
Robert Louis Stevenson, 1850 - 1894
"Travel is one of my passions. I’m enthralled
by curious sights, surprised and moved by other cultures, eager to meet people,
taste exotic foods - experience the sights, the sounds, the smells."
Sherrill Bodine, NOW!
Yes, like other writers, I have severe, chronic wanderlust. When I’m
writing a book I must do on-site research because every place has a special feeling,
a vibe that I want to experience. I’ve learned so much about the world and
myself in my travels. I have long wanted to bring the reader along with me on
these adventures.
Now I can on my website – isn’t technology great! – if only
I understood it!
So here we go on the journeys together. I hope you enjoy the sights and my
realization that reflective travel and in the moment travel are both part of the
adventure.
First destination this year was South America! The fabulous Galapagos Islands
and the beautiful Andes mountains surrounding the truly mystical Machu Picchu
in Peru.
India
My Trip to India was magical! I'm plotting my return to explore more of its fascinating culture. I hope you enjoy these little glimpses of India.
